0:20
Well, I like camping and recently I went camping twice with my family.
0:31
So, I want to talk about this
0:34
and tell you why I like it
0:37
and uh how to camp.
0:40
So, I hope you enjoy this video
0:44
and I know it will be good practice for your listening.
0:50

0:52

1:32
Okay, let's talk about camping.
1:36
Uh, recently I went camping with my family.
1:42
Uh, we went camping um very close to my house.
1:49
So, these were short camping trips, just one night each, but they were fun,
2:00
and we really enjoyed them.
2:04
Where do we go camping?
2:07
Uh, in the US, when people want to go camping, where do they go?
2:15
We usually go to specific parks.
2:21
Um, usually government parks like uh a state park, a regional park or whatever.
2:31
We go to government parks and it's in nature but it's more controlled.
2:42
So, it's safe.
2:46
Uh, you have to pay to uh go inside the park.
2:52
You have to pay to camp there.
2:56
So, it's very controlled and safe, but it's still nature.
3:06
But uh normally people don't just go into the forest and camp.
3:15
People might do that,
3:17
but I think it's more common to go to these uh parks where they
3:25
have uh campgrounds as we call them.
3:30
So, there are different sites, different places in the campground where people can camp.
3:40
Um, so normally you're next to other people. you're close to other campers.
3:50
And uh at these campgrounds uh they provide everything you need um for uh
4:03
like water uh bathrooms.
4:09
Um fire pits like where you make a fire.
4:14
Uh tables so you can sit
4:17
and eat. uh a parking space for your car.
4:23
Um there are trees usually.
4:26
Uh so um they provide a lot of stuff,
4:34
but of course uh you need to bring your own tent
4:41
or maybe uh you can camp in an RV
4:46
as we call it.
4:48
Uh these are these big vehicles uh where you can sleep in them
4:56
and there's a bathroom
4:58
and a kitchen.
5:00
Maybe many people in the US uh like to camp in an RV.
5:09
Uh I prefer tent camping.
5:13
When I go camping, I sleep in a tent.
5:17
Uh these are different types of experiences.
5:23
Tent camping and RV camping are very different, but they're both fun.
5:32
And sleeping in a tent is not very comfortable, but it's an interesting experience.
5:44
Uh, I think that part of the fun of camping is being a little
5:53
uncomfortable.
5:54
Uh, because it's part of the experience to be in nature, uh,
6:03
to not have the same comfortable things that you have at home.
6:12
It's part of the fun.
6:15
So, uh, the tent that we use is called an instant tent.
6:23
So, this means that you can set it up.
6:28
You can uh put it together uh very quickly, like in an instant.
6:36
Um because there are other tense that are much harder to set up.
6:44
Uh and it can take a long time to set those tense up.
6:52
I've seen uh people struggle for a long time to set up those types
7:00
of tents.
7:02
But the instant tent
7:04
that we have is very easy to set up
7:10
and you can do it very quickly.
7:13
So, uh, we set up the tent
7:17
when we arrive at the campsite
7:21
because you don't want to wait until nighttime to set up the tent.
7:28
Uh you want the light
7:32
and uh this tent has doors
7:36
and windows and you can leave the roof uncovered
7:43
so that you can see the sky.
7:46
Uh it's really cool.
7:49
And of course we have sleeping bags. uh these things where we uh can
7:57
sleep in.
7:58
And uh sometimes people use air mattresses where they inflate
8:06
and it's like a bed.
8:08
Um and uh there are other types of uh beds to sleep on in
8:18
tents.
8:19
And um in some areas where people camp,
8:25
there are uh animals
8:29
and you can hear them at night
8:32
when you're in your tent.
8:35
Um when we camped, we heard coyotes at night.
8:41
Uh but this is okay.
8:44
It's not uh scary or anything.
8:49
It's part of the fun.
8:52
Of course, if you camp in the mountains and you hear a bear,
9:00
that's a little scary.
9:03
But, um, for us, we like to be in nature around animals.
9:11
It's fun.
9:13
And normally when you sleep in a tent,
9:17
you wake up early because the uh sun comes up and everything becomes light.
9:30
So it's uh hard to sleep more when everything is light around you.
9:40
Um, how about cooking?
9:43
Uh, I love cooking when camping because uh we cook over the fire.
9:53
So, we use the fire that we make.
9:57
I start the fire and we cook over the fire.
10:03
We use skewers.
10:06
These long sticks.
10:08
We use skewers and we put the food on the skewer
10:15
and put it over the fire to cook.
10:19
Uh, we cooked hot dogs.
10:22
So, we cooked hot dogs.
10:25
We put the hot dog on the skewer
10:28
and put it over the fire
10:31
and it cooks.
10:33
And we also cooked meatballs.
10:37
Uh, we put them on the skewers
10:39
as well and cooked them over the fire.
10:43
And we cooked marshmallows.
10:46
We roasted marshmallows, as we say.
10:51
Uh, this is one of the funnest parts of camping, roasting marshmallows.
10:58
They're delicious and you can use them to make s'mores.
11:06
Uh s'mores are these sandwiches with graham crackers, these sweet crackers,
11:15
and a roasted marshmallow and chocolate.
11:20
If you combine these uh into a sandwich, this is called a s'more.
11:27
So, uh I love making uh s'mores and roasting marshmallows.
11:35
Uh some people prefer to bring pans
11:40
and pots and cook over the fire on a pan.
11:47
We don't do this.
11:48
We just use skewers, these sticks.
11:52
Uh I love this part of camping.
11:56
It's really fun to make your food over the fire
12:02
and it's fun to sit around the fire.
12:07
So, why do people go camping?
12:10
Uh, it's a lot of fun.
12:14
You can spend time in nature.
12:19
You can change your routine a little bit. uh you uh do something different
12:28
when you camp,
12:29
you sleep somewhere different, you cook differently.
12:34
Uh it's a different experience
12:38
and it is interesting to change your routine
12:45
and it's even fun to set up the camp.
12:50
Uh, it's fun to feel like you are surviving in nature.
12:59
Even if it's not in a forest or in the mountains,
13:07
even in a park, it's still fun.
13:12
It feels good to set up the tent
13:17
and build the fire
13:19
and cook and all of
13:22
that.
13:23
And it's fun to sit around the campfire
13:29
and spend time with your family
13:32
or your friends and talk
13:36
and tell stories and make memories.
13:42
Some of my greatest memories from my childhood are my memories of camping.
13:52
I had so much fun camping
13:57
as a kid and I hope
14:00
that my children also make memories uh
14:06
while camping and I hope
14:09
that when they are adults uh they can remember these experiences of camping with
14:20
their family.
14:21
So, there are many reasons why people like camping.
14:28
Uh, and I recommend that you try it if you're able to,
14:36
if you can.
14:38
So, hopefully this video was interesting and hopefully you were able to understand.
