Shadow YouTube videos at B2 (Upper-intermediate) level — listen, repeat, record and score your pronunciation.
At B2 you understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussion in your own field. You can interact with native speakers with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, and write clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects.
B2 maps to roughly IELTS 5.5–6.5, TOEFL iBT 72–94, and the Cambridge B2 First (FCE) exam. See the full CEFR comparison table or the official Council of Europe descriptors.
TED talks, interviews and documentaries work well. Shadow longer passages, matching the speaker's rhythm and emphasis rather than just the words. Pick subjects you enjoy from shadowing topics or a channel; when it feels easy, move up to C1.
