Shadow YouTube videos at C1 (Advanced) level — listen, repeat, record and score your pronunciation.
At C1 you understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognise implicit meaning. You express ideas fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for words, and use language flexibly for social, academic and professional purposes.
C1 maps to roughly IELTS 7.0–8.0, TOEFL iBT 95–120, and the Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) exam. See the full CEFR comparison table or the official Council of Europe descriptors.
Use fast podcasts, panel discussions and casual interviews where speakers overlap and use idioms. Shadow at full speed, copying connected speech and reductions. Pick subjects you enjoy from shadowing topics or a channel; when it feels easy, move up to C2.
